When feeds resume a little after half past 7pm, we get a really good, if not slightly horrifying view of what the last three houseguests (HGs) have to undergo for the first of the Head of Household (HoH) endurance tests. Each HG is perched on a stump, holding on to their key, which is suspended above them. As they try to maintain their grip on the key and their balance on the podium, they are also drenched in a downpour of heavy rain. As if that wasn’t bad enough, a mechanical rabbit emerges regularly to pass them and they must hop over it and land back on their perches.

Daniele is already whimpering and shivering from the cold. A few minutes shy of 8pm, Dick takes off his shoes and goes at it barefoot. Zach appears to be stoically solid and focused. The bunny seems to be picking up speed and the rain looks to be heavier now with additional lightning sounds for effect.

Just after 8pm, Daniele’s arms and legs start to shake and her teeth seem to chatter. She has employed the single, one foot after the other jump while Zach and her dad are both doing the simultaneous feet method whenever they have to hop over the pesky rabbit. Dick offers his shuddering daughter encouragement, telling her that she managed to equal Janelle’s record of the most Power of Veto tournaments won. Daniele is visibly shaking from the wet and cold but is trying her best to stay strong. She and Zach are wearing their gloves while Dick is barehanded along with now being barefoot. Zach remains a tower of strength and silence.

At half past 8pm, Daniele is clearly struggling, moaning increasingly louder that she’s cold and freezing to the bone. The bothersome bunny seems to come around each one of them every 10 seconds or so and Daniele’s jumps are getting later and lazier. Dick tells her to focus and get into herself like she did during their bat hanging competition. At a quarter to 9pm, the feeds go down for a bit and return to show the three competitors now covered in mud. Daniele is stuffing her mouth with her fist to quiet her chattering teeth, even as she alternately cries against the cold and instructs her dad to verbally fluster Zach.

Just before 9pm, Daniele starts to favor her right foot and Dick reminds her to watch her bad foot when she jumps. He also commences his Zach attack, ranting about panty munching, midget-owning, horribly huge teeth, getting dumped by his girlfriend, racism and his puny penis. Zach remains totally oblivious and simply ignores Dick’s outrageous outbursts. Forty minutes into the tirade, Zach is still quiet and unperturbed. Dick has yelled at the top of his lungs and Daniele has gone from laughing and quivering back to crying and whimpering.

At 9:45pm, Daniele continues to weep but she is now in the shower and obviously out of the running. Outside, Zach is now laughing at Dick’s failed efforts to rattle him. The rabbit appears to have parked itself in the cabbage patch contest yard for now.
