Shortly after midnight, Zach goes over his letter again while having a beer. He looks at the camera and says if the internet people are watching, he has won the Head of Household (HoH) and promises to do them proud. He mentions that his dad told him in the letter that he should finish with honor. Zach assures him that he will. He adds that there is no such thing as luck.
At half past 12am, Zach tells Daniele in the kitchen that he’s amazed at all the people who are pulling for him. He narrates how lost relatives and friends have been getting in touch with his folks to show their support for him. People from Creighton and Florida State are also rooting for him. Daniele shows little patience or interest in his popularity tales.
After regaling Daniele with news from his family, Zach proceeds to share the same information with Jameka in the backyard. The conversation then drifts to Jessica’s eviction, which Zach confirms was the plan all along. He attributes this to her arrogance and overconfidence, which he then explains as being the result of her youth.
Zach makes two requests. He confides to Jameka that he would like to put Dick and Daniele on the block. He wants Jameka to win the next Power of Veto (PoV) and then nominate Daniele. He points out that Daniele would put Jameka up if she won the PoV. His second request is for Jameka to give him a portion of her winnings if she goes on to win
Big Brother (BB). He explains that all he really wants is to walk away with more money than he had coming into the game. Daniele arrives to join them, effectively putting an end to their discussion.
At a quarter past 1am, Zach pulls Jameka aside in the gym, to apologize for his earlier remark about wanting a share of the loot in case she goes on to win. He says he knows it’s a game and that such a request is unethical. Jameka assures him that she didn’t take it that way and tells him not to worry about it.
Around 2:40am, Dick and Daniele are seated at the kitchen counter, where Daniele is complaining about Zach using his math skills to figure out the last question during the HoH tournament. She had resorted to doing it manually but BB didn’t give ample time for her to do it right. Interestingly enough, her answer was only apart from Zach’s by one number.
In the backyard, Zach is once again talking to Jameka. He promises to her that her key (for the nomination ceremony) will be in the box. He guarantees it a 100 percent. He confides that if they wind up in the last three with Dick, Dick would take him to the homestretch, but he would pick Jameka over Dick. Jameka thanks him for the talk and expresses surprise over him. She admits that she doesn’t know him anymore. Zach confesses that he just chose to lay low until he knew it was time for him to step up and play the game.
