The 14 house guests for Big Brother 8 were only just revealed, and already hordes of Internet detective wannabes are digging up every scrap of information they can on the unwitting participants. Armed with the knowledge that some of the contestants will be locked in with their worst enemies, dots are being connected all over the World Wide Web, and there’s some juicy stuff in store for viewers.

The biggie is that we’ll be getting a daddy-daughter duo this year, upping the ante from season five’s long-lost mismatched siblings, the goth chick Nakomis and Cowboy Mike.. According to RealityTV Calendar, Hooters waitress Danielle was uncovered as the estranged daughter of the eldest house mate, 44-year-old Dick. Confirmation comes from the fact that a picture on Dick’s MySpace Page shows him with the comely lass.

If ever a contestant was perfectly named, it’s Dick. Calling himself “evil” (which only works if you’re a doctor named Will Kirby), his MySpace page is a bastion for misogyny that would make Andrew Dice Clay run home and kiss his mother. Particularly illuminating is a blog he’s posted called “Are all chicks completely f*cking nuts???”

Adding fuel to this fire is a brewing controversy over Dick’s daughter, who doesn’t turn 21 until later this summer, despite a rule mandating all contestants be at least 21. Gee, I wonder if the title “Hooters Waitress” title has anything to do with that. Of course, given what we know of dear old dad, the fact that she’s (presumably) not doing low-class porn is a miracle.

The other big scoop the site revealed is the massive feud between houseguests Carol and Jessica. Both 21-year-old Kansan college students and dance enthusiasts (or, if you choose to draw unsubstantiated conclusions: strippers) are quite at odds with each other. Carol’s father, a Kansas State Senator, has told reporters there’s a “one in three” chance his daughter will immediately leave the house upon seeing her arch nemesis.

There are no facts about what the reason for their animosity is, but that won’t stop people from speculating. My money is on one man, two g-strings, and a whole lot of singles, a surefire recipe for Midwest disaster. Either way, the Big Brother producers are proving themselves to be quite smart. They take two hot young women who hate each other and lock them in a house for the summer. CBS will either get a bonding, very special Oprah moment, or a couple of cat fights before they start expelling contestants. The odds are quite good on the latter, especially if/when one of the challenges involves a pool full of Jell-O.

There isn’t much confirmation on what other enemies may be in the house, though there are plenty of clues. Several contestants are from originally from Minnesota, and the two openly gay men both reside in Chicago. Whether they’re mortal enemies or just two random gay men thrown in the house, sparks should fly of some sort. If we’re lucky, maybe we can squeeze two epic cat fights out of this season. The fur begins to fly Thursday, July 5 when the new season starts off its assault on summer.
