Big Brother 7: All-Stars, Season 7 Episode 2, Recap 7/11

Janelle, Howie, Danielle, and Erika Scheming in the Head of Household Room

Episode Rating: *** (3 stars out of 5)

Episode Overview:  On the second episode of the season, the BIG BROTHER drama heats up, we see out first Power of Veto challenge, and “Chicken” George shows off his snoring abilities.

Recap:

Alison and Danielle are on the chopping block, being the two who Janelle and Jase nominated for eviction. We begin the episode with Alison in the Diary Room talking some mad trash about Janelle, saying that later on in BIG BROTHER 7 (if she survives) Alison is going to take Janelle out.

Alison and Danielle decide that they should go confront the Heads of Household in their room and try to explain themselves. No new information is given. Alison and Danielle give some half-ass reasons for their scheming, followed by Janelle telling them why they were nominated: for strategizing too much and trying to orchestrate her eviction. Now, the fun starts. Alison leaves, but Danielle remains behind. Almost immediately after the door shuts, Danielle blames Alison for the whole thing. Later, Alison come back to the Head of Household room and blames everything on Danielle. Oh, girls.

Howie and Will have hit it off in a very, very weird way. It seems that Howie is following Will everywhere, idolizing him. It's kind of like an older/younger brother type thing. The banter between the two is pretty funny, Will constantly making fun of Howie and Howie shrugging it off.

Jase and Janelle discuss Alison and how she completely baffles them. They're unsure on how to handle her. Alison, again in the diary room, discusses how much she hates Janelle. I'm not really sure why.

After we witness a covert meeting between all four of the Big Brother Sixers (Howie, James, Janelle, Kaysar), we get snippets of a number of the other HouseGuests talking about how dangerous the Sixers are and how they need to be gotten rid of.

Marcellas and Erika talk with Jase and Janelle in the Head of Household room. Erika wants Alison out for her back-stabbing ways in Big Brother 4, and Marcellas wants Danielle out for her back-stabbing ways in Big Brother 3. Marcellas, although this isn't unusual, is on the verge of tears when he discusses Danielle. He REALLY despises her.

At night, “Chicken” George's snoring is unbearable. It is keeping up everyone awake in his room, as well as people from the adjacent bedroom. It is that loud.

Will and Howie head up the construction of a slip n' slide in the BIG BROTHER back yard. It looks like fun. For the final slide of the day, they bring out “Chicken” George to slide on top of Howie. That's right. “Chicken” George completely straddles Howie, who is on the bottom. This is all a little disturbing. Marcellas enters the backyard just in time to witness the slide and we get his hilariously disgusted reaction. Later, in the Diary Room, Marcellas confesses that the sight of those two on top of each other was almost enough to turn him straight.

Time for the Power of Veto challenge. The Power of Veto lets contestants compete in a competition in which the winner is afforded the power to remove one of the nominated people and nominate someone else. In past seasons, the participants in the Power of Veto were the Head of Household, the two nominated contestants and then an indiscriminate number of other challengers chosen by the Head of Household. However, we have a new twist. Julie tells the HouseGuests that this year, the Power of Veto contestants will be the two Heads of Household, the two nominated parties, and two random HouseGuests. They will spin a wheel to decided the final two participants. Jase brings the wheel out; Kaysar and “Chicken” George are selected.

The Veto challenge takes place in the backyard, where a “Big Brother Dump” has been created. The yard is literally filled with garbage from the past seasons. Each participant begins in their own dumpster. After ceremoniously getting a bunch of disgusting crap (PB&J's, chum, old hair) dumped on them, the challenge begins. Hidden in the garbage are small Veto symbols. The first to collect six of the symbols wins the Power of Veto. Will gives us the sideline play-by-play. Danielle and Alison give it their all, but Janelle is just too good. She wins.

Afterwards, in the Diary Room, Jase claims to have thrown the challenge, but I don't believe him. Alison thinks this sealed it; she's going to be evicted. Danielle thinks the same thing, however. Will goes to the Head of Household room and stirs things up, telling everyone about some conspiracies and alliances. He is blatantly lying, really just amusing himself.

At the Veto ceremony, Janelle decides not to Veto anyone. This was obvious, considering she was the one who orchestrated the nominations in the first place.

My Thoughts:

Alison is completely annoying and needs to be voted off next episode.  I don't want to hear her voice or watch her kiss someone's ass, immediately followed by her insulting that person in the Diary Room.  Will is further cementing his place as funniest reality star ever (yes, he's funnier than the comics on Last Comic Standing).  I like what Jase is doing; subtly aligning himself with a number of factions.  The next Head of Household challenge will be very pivotal, especailly for the Big Brother Sixers.
